Day 59 of 2018

We've been doing wooden puzzles the last few days.
I love the ones with Mickey, Donald, Garfield, and Grover,
but I think this one is very near the top of my absolute favorites list.
Is anyone surprised?

Day 58 of 2018

Here are the fabrics I have chosen for this week.
I'm sure you can guess my selected theme.

Day 56 of 2018

Sew Along.  Week Three.
I've declared it Halloween week.
I'm excited about how these blocks turned out.

Day 55 of 2018

I was hoping for sunshine
but all we get is gray skies, warm temperatures and rain.
I guess that's what brings new beginnings.

Day 53 of 2018

The doors for this week's sew along are cut.
The house cutting is underway.
I may get to sew tomorrow.

Day 52 of 2018

Another wait at another doctor's office
finds me disassembling what appears to be an antique, two generation quilt top
in which the sashing attachment was poorly executed.
My plan is to reassemble the top properly with new sashing fabric
or possibly with an entirely new setting.
I will be sure to keep you posted.

Day 51 of 2018

I take Mom to lots of doctor appointments.
In one particular office there is the most beautiful artwork.
Two of the pieces are signed like this.
It was my intention to ask for help here in finding out whose work this is,
but just before I started writing this post I decided to do a Google search.
Much to my surprise I found what I was looking for.
If you are curious, images of the work can be seen
here and here.

Day 50 of 2018

Most of my week two blocks have a valentine theme.
I think my favorite block is the one with the bunnies in the doorway.
I am loving making these
and filling out the cute little check list is pretty fun as well.

Day 49 of 2018

Today was a chilly but sunny day.
I took my two new, old quilt tops out into the wild
and onto the steps of the monument downtown.
As promised I took pictures.
I am really looking forward to quilting these colorful finds.

Day 47 of 2018

This is just one of the inspiring quilts I saw today at a new-to-me antique mall.
This one didn't come home with me,
but I will show you the two quilt tops that did as soon as the sun shines
and I can get good pictures.

Day 45 of 2018

Real cupcake.  Fake flower.
It was so rich, I had to save some for tomorrow.
Happy Valentine's Day.

Day 43 of 2018

This is our beautiful theater.
Photographs and video recordings are forbidden during performances
(although many people were taking them anyway)
so I took this one just before the second half of the program began.
John Williams conducted the music of John Williams.

Day 42 of 2018

I am working out my fabrics for the theme I have in mind
for this week's sew along blocks.

Pattern: Village by Jumble, Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.
Sew Along hosted by Stitch Supply Co.

Day 41 of 2018

This is a project I started a couple years ago.
I'm not sure why I stopped working on it,
but now there is a sew along going on over on Instagram.
My plan is to start again and get the top done this time.

Pattern: Village by Jumble, Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.
Sew Along hosted by Stitch Supply Co.

Let us show you around.

Day 37 of 2018

I met a new friend tonight at my quilting meeting.
She was a little camera shy.

Day 36 of 2018

I mentioned a couple weeks ago while I was in Florida
that my projects of choice for the trip were knitting ones.
We were mostly busy with other activities,
but I did finish this hat and made a little scrubbie dish cloth.
I know the hat will fit its recipient as it fits me
and we have similar sized heads.
The cloth is made of one strand of cotton yarn and one strip of netting
which makes for a very nice cloth that isn't quite a tough as a scrubbie alone
but has more oomph than a regular cloth.

Day 35 of 2018

Guests have arrived.
Can you guess who has come to stay for a while?

Day 34 of 2018

The guest room is done and ready for our first house guests tomorrow.

Day 33 of 2018

Today Fireball and I received a lovely gift from M,
our recently transplanted girl.

Day 32 of 2018

Fireball and I shared a dessert tonight.
If I were at home this plate would look very different.
If you know me, you know exactly what I mean.
If you don't, I'm sure you can guess.
