Day 31 of 2018

Mom is enjoying some post-op reminiscing.
She is doing great.
Thank you all for your calming and peaceful thoughts.

Day 30 of 2018

Most of the day tomorrow will be spent waiting.
A good friend knows I'm going to need some calm.
This gift is going in the "to do" bag.

Day 28 of 2018

Today was all about repurposing a space.
It feels like making something new out of something I already have.
M's bedroom (now that she has moved)
will become a guest room.

Day 27 of 2018

On this morning's walk I learned about shark teeth from a woman on the beach.
She told us where and how to find them.
I wish I had known this information three days ago.
Now that I am home, I feel compelled to do some research
in order to gather more insight into my little collection.

Day 23 of 2018

This is not my work but the work of a friend.
My handwork this week is knitting.
We did very little handwork today.
We shopped.

Day 18 of 2018

Today I had to go out of town.  On the way back into town, with about twenty minutes left in my hour and fifteen minute drive, the GPS told me it would take well over an hour to get home.  I didn't believe it and continued on.  Shortly after merging onto the last stretch of highway, traffic stopped.  I inched along for a while with everyone until the first exit.  I got off and drove through the city.  It saved me just a little time, but at least I felt as though I was making progress.

Wow, that was a long way for me to get to the point
which is that this a different view than I usually see of downtown.
I came home from the south and I usually see downtown from the northeast.
All the buildings are backward.

Day 17 of 2018

Today a group of us from my quilting group went to the Indiana State Museum
to see an exhibit of Lincoln era textiles.
Most of them were quilts.
This was my favorite made of shimmery silks.
I especially like the history noted below.

Day 15 of 2018

How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

Day 14 of 2018

Celebrating M today on her birthday.
And just in case you were curious, yes, the Christmas tree is still up.

Day 11 of 2018

Hi, this is me.
This memento from a trip last summer is another recent find in the studio.

Day 10 of 2018

I am cleaning up my studio and am finding the coolest stuff.
I think these patterns will make for some nice light reading tonight.

Day 9 of 2018

Today's machine, my serger.
I'm sure I've said it before, but it is one of the best purchases I ever made.
Tonight it helped me complete a pants hemming project.

Day 8 of 2018

I spent some quality time with this machine today.
Now that I see the picture, it looks like the machine that cleans things
could use a good cleaning itself.

Sorry for the late post.  Blogger was not playing well with others.

Day 7 of 2018

After quite a weekend of packing, loading, moving, unloading and reloading,
including my hand injury and a trip to the urgent care clinic,
I'm relaxing with a cup of hot chocolate in one of my favorite new holiday mugs
before it gets packed away until later this year
when it will make its return appearance.

Day 6 of 2018

Indy skyline.  Gorgeous day.
The thing you can't see is the frigid temperature.
On another note, I did it again.
This time it was a knuckle sandwich - a sofa, a bookshelf
and my knuckle pinned between them.
This time I went to urgent care.
Good news.
No broken bones.

Day 4 of 2018

Moving is hard.
I am currently helping with the packing stage.
What is it they say about things getting worse before they get better?

Day 3 of 2018

It's a new year and I can't photograph my last knitting finish
as I began wearing it right away without blocking it due to the cold weather.
I guess the only thing to do is start something new.
Yes.  That's what I'll do.

Day 2 of 2018

I have made the switch.
I am going with just blue and white this January,
well, with the exception of that lovely stack of fruit/salsa bowls
which are a new shape to me.
I love them a lot and may need to collect a few more colors.

Day 1 of 2018

It's the first day of a new year,
a time for new beginnings.
Today I'm thinking of goal setting and intentions.
