Day 304 of 2016

What little boy doesn't love being a dinosaur?
My triangle sewing is done.
Tomorrow he will wear matching sweat pants.

Happy birthday to my Fireball!
I'm so glad you came into my life.

Day 300 of 2016

1.  I am clearly distractible.
The socks I am knitting are still not done but
I had to start a quick, seed stitch cowl.
2.  I can't leave well enough alone.
I thought the cowl needed to be wider at one end so I did a row of increases
but now don't like the way it messed up the neat look of the pattern.
3.  I know how to fix things.
Run a contrasting yarn through the row you'd like to go back to.
Remove the needle and pull the offending rows out.
Begin knitting again as if it never happened.
4.  All is well.

Day 297 of 2016

All it needs is a binding.
Maybe I will actually get it done and on the wall before Halloween.

Day 296 of 2016

It's been a couple months since Big D and R's garage was damaged in a storm.
Today is the day it is coming down.
(View from inside with collapsed roof)
It began like this with bowed walls and partially collapsed roof.
It ended like this with the garage completely gone
and the salvageable items placed where the garage once stood,
covered to protect them from the elements.

Day 295 of 2016

This is my street.
My yard is the one with the orange tree.
I love my street.

Day 294 of 2016

So much for trying to include a pumpkin in my little fall display.
OR
You're welcome, Mr. Squirrel, for the lovely dessert I provided for you today.

Day 292 of 2016

Have you ever made a pattern from a readymade shirt?
I do this for the purpose of remaking a shirt or making an entirely new shirt.
I have done it for both myself and for M.
This time I will be remaking a shirt for DIL, R.

Day 289 of 2016

We visited a new-to-us orchard today.
The corn maze was more challenging than we expected.

Day 287 of 2016

Part of our family moved in April.
So this has been on my mind all day.
It has been hard not to check the weather on my phone every minute.
Hurricane Nicole rolled through.
Everyone is safe.
The power is out and the cell phone is low on power.
I am hoping for another update tomorrow.

Day 285 of 2016

This was supposed to be a before and after picture.
The onions were just getting soft and on their way to being caramelized.
I'm sure you know where this is heading.
I got busy making all the components of dinner
and the onions went right onto the plates.
After they were gone, I realized I forgot to take the second picture.
So today is a picture of my onions.
By the way, they were delicious.

Day 284 of 2016

Here is my chalkboard grocery list.
Wait.  What?
I was concentrating on practicing my handwriting.
I didn't notice the misspelling for three days!

Day 283 of 2016

Big D, R and GB#3 joined us for dinner.
GB#3 has a drink of milk.
Big D:  Is it good?
GB#3:  No.  It's tasty.

Day 280 of 2016

There is construction going on not far away from my house.
Now that the house in the background is finished, they are beginning another.
Have I mentioned before that I love construction?
I can't wait to follow the progress.

Day 279 of 2016

Today was a fun day at the mailbox.
I can't wait to sit down with these tonight.

Day 277 of 2016

After a conversation with Little E today,
I have a new appreciation for the abundance and freshness
of the produce available to me.
