Day 150 of 365

My new studio is set up with space for a me and a guest to sew at the same time.
A friend came over today to share my new space and have a little sewing day.
Oh, what fun!

Update:  Mrs. Hummingbird (from yesterday's post) has decided that the new feeder location is a good one after all.  I am sure she will bring the Mr. with her soon.

Day 149 of 365

When I awoke this morning I looked out at the bird feeders
like I do every morning to see who is visiting,
and saw that the hummingbird feeder was open and empty.
I suspect the raccoon.
After bringing the feeder in, cleaning it up, and refilling it, I hung it in a new spot.
Almost immediately after I went back inside Mrs. Hummingbird buzzed the feeder but didn't drink.  She and Mr. Hummingbird did the same thing yesterday when it was still full.
Any suggestions?
Does it smell too much like raccoon?

Day 148 of 365

There are way too many of these (dandelions) in the yard,
but they sure are fun to photograph.

Day 147 of 365

When the first set of pictures one takes doesn't turn out at all inspiring,
what does one do?
Sort.  By color, of course.

Day 144 of 365

Daughter-in-law, R, receives a beautiful, hand knit baby blanket from,
and made by, my mother.
You may recall the ones she made for Little E and GB#1 and CJ and GB#2 back in 2012.
This one is the same pattern as the one for CJ and GB#2.

Day 140 of 365

Creepy Crawly.
Sorry for the blur.  Once he saw me with my camera, he was on the move.

Day 138 of 365

Fireball and I got away for the weekend for our anniversary.
Evidently the hotel at which we stayed was a monastery for a period of time.
A small cemetery sits atop a hill.

Day 137 of 365

Reflections of trees in water where there should be no water.

Day 136 of 365

Tomorrow is our anniversary.
I've tried to put into words that which cannot be adequately described.

Day 133 of 365

I encountered this ominous sky today.
I was afraid I was driving right into a storm.
I was right.

Day 132 of 365

Found.
One ruler, three patterns.
I knew it had to be somewhere.

Day 129 of 365

Sometimes when I meet Fireball for lunch I see this double decker.
This not a normal vehicle for the area.
I'm thinking it must be for hire.

Day 127 of 365

I got the jingle bell project done today.
I know you may not be able to tell exactly what is going on here so I will explain.
This is a wall of bells at the bottom of our stairs.  Since my stairs only have a wall on one side and spindles on the other, there is no place to attach a gate.  I know that this wall will not keep anyone safe from a fall down the stairs or keep anyone from going up the stairs if they are really determined, but with little girls running around the house at the speed of lightning, it will certainly serve as a great alarm system.  I will always know if someone is close to the stairs.

The "wall" is a series of jingle bells strung on thin elastic.  The elastic is then attached to the wall with screw eyes and detachable key rings.  The string of bells is strung back and forth from the wall, around the newell post and back.  I can undo the whole wall by detaching the key rings when no little ones are present.

Day 126 of 365

Today brought the return of this quilt I had to send away in January for photography.
I am glad to have it back.

Day 124 of 365

Here's another small peek at my new studio organization.
I have amassed quite a few zippers over the years.
The other day I found these new post-it notes that loop around
and then stick to themselves on the other end.
They are supposed to attach to your purse or steering wheel to remind you to do something.
I thought they would make great labels for my baskets and bins.
I never remember what I put in them especially if I can't see in them.

Day 122 of 365

Here's another glimpse into my new studio.
Can you tell I am a pushover when it comes to mugs,
especially when they are in my favorite colors?
